Gostilna PRI MARI, Piran
Located on the main street leading to the old town center, Gostilna PRI MARI has welcomed visitors for over 15 years with its pleasant and well-kept appearance. Due to its beautiful appearance, it has become a popular destination for many guests from Europe and around the world. It holds memories of familiar faces from the world of entertainment, culture, and politics from all over the world, having gained many friends through its simplicity and hospitality, carrying its name from Venice to Vienna and even further to Moscow and across the Atlantic.
This reputation has been earned by the Osteria Pri Mari, alongside its appearance in original, poverty-art style arte povera from the 20th century, also thanks to its characteristic family hospitality, created by Mara with dishes, Tomaž behind the bar with glasses, and son Marco in the kitchen with pots. For most guests who have visited Piran, this pearl of the Slovenian coast, Osteria PRI MARI has become their pilgrimage site, to which they happily return again and again, year after year.
We prepare dishes that enrich the experience of Piran, following established recipes that we have carefully selected over the years from various sources of traditional Primorsk and Istrian cuisine, with some creativity also left to the young son Marco, who learned the culinary profession in neighboring Trieste. We are aware that without good ingredients, there is no good food, so we choose among the best suppliers of raw materials and of course collaborate with local fishermen and shellfish, who ensure that there is always a fresh seasonal seafood offer in the kitchen. In addition to seafood specialties, we gladly serve guests with specialties from Istrian or Venetian cuisine, prepared according to the recipes of our grandmothers.
For the more demanding guest, in addition to good food, the rich wine list, in addition to wines from the local winemaker, offers over 40 different bottled wines from well-known Primorsk, Kraški, Vipavski and Goriških wine cellars. You can also trust the popularity of this renowned Piran tavern by reading the opinions of guests on the world wide web, including the most popular portal Trip advisor. Many references published in 10 years by renowned gastronomic journalists from Italy, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia, are displayed on the walls of the tavern as its landmark and proof of international recognition.
