The Renaissance Zemono estate, home to Gostilna Pri Lojzet, offers an exceptional setting for the culinary creations of chef Tomaž Kavčič. The imposing building, nestled on a hillside, is surrounded by arcades and manicured lawns. The magnificent view of the Vipava Valley promises an exciting experience before you even taste the food.
The Vipava Valley plays an important role in the kitchen. From here come the ingredients and flavors that chef Tomaž transforms into masterpieces. As a pioneer of slow food in Slovenia, he constantly creates new dishes, a collection of culinary delights.
His menus are harmonious, made up of top-quality, mostly local ingredients. Some of his creations have been so well-received that they have almost become national symbols. Lamb cooked for 13 hours, hearty bean stew and roast beef cooked in a wood-fired oven are just a few examples.
We strive to make our innovations a tradition of the future, says Tomaž. There is also a great selection for wine lovers, with over 600 labels on the wine list.
Gostilna Pri Lojzet, which was awarded the title of the best Slovenian restaurant in 2020 by the Gault & Millau 2020 international gastronomic guide, deserves this title also because of the friendly chef and exceptional staff.
