The renovated old homestead, named after Nonna Marica, delighted children with homemade treats.

Casa Marica is located within the picturesque medieval village of Šmartno, behind a defensive wall. Formerly a military fortress, it's now a romantic settlement where time seems to have stopped.

Šmartno village is situated in the heart of the Brda wine region, its strategic location on a hillside offering stunning views from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea. The old village walls, narrow streets, and defensive towers give this village a unique charm.

The restaurant offers traditional cuisine based on seasonal and local ingredients. We don't have a permanent menu, but ours changes weekly, offering two daily menus based on locally sourced ingredients purchased largely from nearby farmers. In spring and summer, we also offer a menu featuring fresh Istrian fish.

We are particularly proud of our locally produced Briška prosciutto, salami, bacon, and other meats, which we produce and age with experience, knowledge, and love for tradition under the roof of our homestead in Medana.

We also offer top-quality Briška wines from our own cellar, Belica, to local culinary experts.
